Glossary
A
Aithemind
A mode of thinking that is so seamlessly at one with the field of being that it is beyond all sense of partnership, and is without a center – dilated without resistance into the borderless present. (Compare to hetabrain and logosmind)
Analog Axis
The subtle currents of exchange between the self and the world are ‘analog’, or wave-like, rather than ‘digital’, and they register in the body. Like the “great pipeline” imagined by Hiroyuki Aoki, “connecting everything – earth, self and solar system,” the analog axis is similarly imagined as an axis of exchange between the self and the unity of the world. (Associated with the corational corridor)
Antephialtic
This is a potion that was offered by apothecaries of old to ward off nightmares. ‘Antephialtic’ literally means “good against the nightmare.”
Axial Consciousness
The interplay of consciousness that runs between the complementary poles of our consciousness: that of the head, and that of the pelvic bowl. (Compare to unipolar consciousness)
C
Chthonic
Concerning, belonging to, or inhabiting the underworld.
Corational Corridor
Hiroyuki Aoki noted that “it is our task to clean and enlarge” the pipeline connecting everything. The corational corridor is the personal spaciousness of being that enables the exchanges along the analog axis.
Corational Thinking
The thinking of the logosmind, which relies on its partnership with the mindful present, and proceeds hand-in-hand with it. It is born of “mutual awareness,” the etymological root of our word “consciousness”. Corational thinking is contrasted with unipolar thinking, and is associated with the union of the embodied axis with the analog axis (see The Crux of Consciousness).
The Crux of Consciousness
The intersection within the body between the embodied axis and the analog axis.
E
Embodiment
Embodied Axis
An energetic axis of exchange or interplay between the complementary poles of our consciousness: that in the head, and that in the pelvic bowl. It makes axial consciousness possible. (Associated with the inner corridor)
Entelechy
The immaterial drive that carries living beings towards their ultimate form.
